6-8 p.m.
Join Jen at Armade in MI in beautiful downtown Armada!
Yep! And you can do it, too. You don’t even need raw milk! Of course, raw is best, because it’s got all the good cultures, but we can “reculture” even store-bought milk, creating healthful, delicious, probiotic, INEXPENSIVE food right in our own kitchens.
You’ll be surprised and delighted at how simple, flexible, and doable these basic dairy products really are. If you think about it, this is EXACTLY how people got their yogurt and butter for the millenia before grocery stores convinced us they were specialized products requiring specialized equipment!
Join me as we explore and relearn lost skills…the skills my mom taught me…the skills Grandma Mary taught her…the skills Aunt Mary taught her…
Saturday, September 26, 2026
2-4:30 p.m.
On-farm and in-person!
Join me here at The Collins Cluckery and Homestead for a relaxing afternoon tea! We’ll take a farm tour, visiting the chickens, poking around in the veggie / herb / flower garden (all jumbled in together for JOY and for pollination!), selecting herbs to make our own fresh teas…
and maybe even tasting a sample of my homemade Papa Mott’s 12-Day Wine! Or, for those who prefer to avoid alcoholic beverages -or are too young! - a sample of my home-fermented Ginger Kombucha! (a SAMPLE, Ladies, a SAMPLE! Of course, you can enjoy as much herb tea and Ginger Kombucha as you like!😄)
Join me, Jen, as we meander through the flowers, herbs, & vegetables; watch the chickens peck; and choose our own herbs for a personalized, scrumptious, healing tea. You might even get to see a weed or two - or a hundred - lurking behind the tomatoes & sunflowers! 🤪 It IS, after all, a REAL live homestead!
Young ladies 10 and under are free, but each child must be accompanied by a paying adult. This event is not geared toward young children (read…may be long and boring for your 2-year-old!), so bear that in mind.
Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to someone else. Obviously, if WE cancel for any reason, we will refund the price of your ticket.
Our next homesteading event is not yet scheduled! If you’re interested, though, make sure you are signed up for our e-mails to stay posted. Text your e-mail address to Jen at 810-384-8177, and I’d be happy to put you on our list!
Analysis Paralysis: Many of us feel like if we can’t do it ALL, it isn’t worth starting! If we can’t see our way clearly, it isn’t worth doing! The truth is that if we TRY to start it all, we’ll burn out. Whether that’s in 6 months or 5 years, we WILL burn out.
So let’s explore the idea of being a “gradual homesteader,” of starting where we are, RIGHT NOW, with what we’ve got TODAY. Whether you’ve got a few pots in a city apartment or 100 acres at your disposal, let’s just pick a starting place and GO.
Whether that’s chickens in the backyard, sourdough in the kitchen, or learning to replace ONE thing you used to buy at the grocery store, YOU CAN DO THIS. And I can help.
I’d love to explore with you the skills, interests, and resources you have TODAY, so you can build a manageable foundation for future success.
Space is limited, and registration is required. Click the button to register OR Call Armade in MI at 586-473-7002.
