I took the Yogurt and Butter class at Jen’s Homestead Kitchen a couple months ago. We had a small group of four people and it was so much fun. I learned a ton. Jen is a very good instructor with lots of patience. It was a hands-on class, so we all took a turn learning the techniques that Jen was teaching. There was even a bonus at the end of the class I was not really expecting. Jen had made a loaf of homemade sourdough bread and we got to try the butter we made on the bread. It was simply delicious. I consume plain Greek yogurt on a daily basis. I will tell you that I took my lessons learned at this class and I have made the best-tasting yogurt I have ever had. The bonus is that I am now eating more healthy Greek yogurt with absolutely no added ingredients that I can’t even pronounce. I have not tried making the butter yet, but that is next.
You truly will enjoy this class!

I had such a wonderful experience taking Jen’s butter and yogurt making class.
She is incredibly knowledgeable, and so generous in sharing her personal experience and wisdom. What stood out most was the way she taught with zero judgment. Whether you are an experienced homesteader or taking your very first class, whether you live on a 100 acre farm or in a city apartment, she made it clear that these skills are possible for everyone in different ways.
Jen came prepared with so many samples to try and so much knowledge to share. She has a true passion for homesteading and an even greater passion for helping others learn, grow, and feel confident starting right where they are.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to learn from someone who shares knowledge with such generosity and heart! I've since made butter and yogurt at home, even reaching out to Jen with questions along the way. I've not only gained skills, but a mentor and friend which I'm truly grateful!

Attending the yogurt and butter making class was such a delightful and eye‑opening experience. Jen's passion for traditional techniques and simple, wholesome ingredients made the class not only informative but genuinely enjoyable. Her clear, patient guidance turned each step into something surprisingly fun — who knew milk could have this much personality? I left feeling confident, inspired, and excited to try it at home. It was the perfect blend of learning, creating and fun!! I’ll be waiting for the sourdough instructional!😉

“The tea afterward was lovely, with fresh-baked treats and the piece de resistance: honey orange yogurt. That alone was worth the price of admission!” (Kate)

My mom and I attended Jen's Tea & Sip Tour last June. We both enjoyed learning about the many herbs in her garden and how they are best used. It was also fun to get to know the other members of her class. The tea afterward was lovely, with fresh-baked treats and the piece de resistance: honey orange yogurt. It alone was worth the cost of admission. Jen puts a greay deal of thought and care into her classes. Highly recommend!

“I got to learn while also feeling like I was at a gathering with good friends.
There was no question too dumb to ask!” (Erica)

Who knew it was possible to learn such practical and valuable skills and have the best time doing it? She has a gift for imparting knowledge because I learned a lot whether being new to the subject or not, and there was no question too dumb to ask! And somehow, I got to learn while also feeling like I was at a gathering with good friends. Such a great way to meet like-minded people!
As if that wasn’t enough, depending on the class, we were also treated to her homemade delicacies like herbal teas, freshly baked bread, cheese and yogurt, which were literally tastes of heaven - like no one spoke for a moment because we were all in this euphoric state! 😂 Sufficient to say, I'll be a returning student. 😁

Jennifer Collins of The Collins Cluckery offers a fascinating view into the edible plants that are right in our own gardens. Her knowledge of the best way to harvest and prepare them is invaluable. It's an almost-lost art worth learning. The beverages and food that Jen served were organic and gourmet! (Susan)
